Description
Lexington Country Club in Fort Myers is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Golf Course Maintenance professional.
The primary responsibility of Golf Course Maintenance is overall day-to-day care of the golf course maintenance, performing duties necessary to maintain optimal course conditions. Performing a variety of routine groundskeeping and equipment operating tasks. Providing members with a course and practice areas which provide excellent playing conditions and exceptional turf management in a manner consistent with ownership policies, practices and goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintains golf course by mowing, trimming, top dressing, treating turf, maintenance of bunkers, hole changing, hedge trimming, and general maintenance.
  • Operates golf course equipment.
  • Participates in daily set up of the golf course for play.
  • Mows greens, tees, and approaches to greens, roughs, and other areas of the golf course.
  • Aerifies greens, verticuts tees and greens, and spikes greens as assigned.
  • Prepare and plant sod when needed.
  • Keeps golf course maintenance equipment fueled, oiled, and inspected.
  • Ensures a pleasant visit for each guest; maintains effective guest relations.
  • Performs special projects delegated by management.
  • Stays updated on latest developments pertinent to the department as well as the location.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of standard golf course maintenance practices or desire to learn quickly while performing the job.
  • Ability to operate and maintain a variety of reel-type mowers and other golf grounds maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to operate tractors, loaders, backhoes, and other large equipment.
  • Ability to perform a variety of unskilled to semi-skilled golf course maintenance duties.
  • Knowledge of safe and efficient use of all types of golf course equipment.

No prior experience is required for this role though we prefer experience working on landscaping crews or golf courses before. If there is no prior experience, a willingness and ability to learn how to operate a variety of equipment and perform duties specific to the maintenance of a golf course is required.
