Job description

Description

 Cima Aviation is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations supporting our MRO repair and parts business. This position is responsible for maintaining proper stocking levels of high-quality aircraft parts and components for our customers, managing multiple suppliers to ensure timely delivery of precision parts, and planning and purchasing production parts through our ERP system. The Purchasing Manager communicates the status of work in progress, part availability, and production issues to management, and works cross-functionally with sales, engineering, quality, and shipping/receiving to solve procurement problems in a fast-paced, competitive MRO environment. 

Requirements

  • Negotiates and coordinates the procurement and distribution of products and services for the organization, including raw materials, finished parts, tooling, equipment, and supplies
  • Negotiates with vendors to obtain price, availability, and delivery information, and to determine vendor qualifications
  • Leads, develops, and coaches others within the procurement team
  • Monitors PO delivery status, prioritizes, and expedites orders based on customer needs, including time-critical (AOG) situations
  • Monitors and analyzes inventory levels and issues purchase orders as needed
  • Issues repair orders and follows up with repair stations to ensure quick turnaround
  • Builds strong business relationships with vendors and maintains regular communication with them
  • Reports on purchase orders to sales and upper management (delivery dates, backorders/availability)
  • Researches Fair Market Value alternate part numbers and PMAs to ensure the best part possible is procured
  • Continually updates part numbers, min/max levels, and lead times in our ERP/inventory system
  • Continually seeks new ways to improve current processes to make the department more efficient
  • Creates and implements new reports based on business needs
Experience and Skills
  • 4+ years of experience in a purchasing, production, supervisory, or project management role; aviation/MRO purchasing experience strongly preferred
  • Highly proficient with MS Office programs, especially Excel
  • Prior experience working in an ERP/inventory management system (e.g., Quantum, Trax, AvSight, or similar)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
  • Positive, professional attitude with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of accounting structure, invoices, and payment terms
  • Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, airline, or MRO environment strongly desirable
  • Familiarity with aircraft component categories (rotables, expendables, consumables) a plus
Education

High School Diploma required; some college or supply chain/business coursework preferred.
