Facilities Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Houston maintenance facility.

Position Summary

The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring ASP's Houston facility remains safe, operational, compliant, and ready to support aircraft maintenance operations. This position manages facility maintenance, building systems, vendor relationships, capital improvement projects, and regulatory compliance while supporting production and operational goals. The role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic aviation environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation and maintenance of hangars, offices, warehouses, and surrounding property.
  • Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs for facility systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, fire protection systems, compressed air systems, and other building infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, airport requirements, and company safety policies.
  • Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and service providers while negotiating pricing and service agreements.
  • Oversee facility improvement projects, renovations, and equipment installations.
  • Monitor facility budgets, maintenance expenses, and capital expenditures.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to identify safety concerns and maintenance needs.
  • Maintain emergency response plans and coordinate facility readiness during severe weather or emergency situations.
  • Support aircraft maintenance operations by ensuring facilities and support equipment remain operational.
  • Coordinate building access, security systems, key control, and facility-related documentation.
  • Maintain maintenance records, permits, inspections, and regulatory documentation.
  • Supervise maintenance personnel and outside contractors while ensuring quality workmanship.
  • Assist leadership with facility planning to support company growth and expansion.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of facilities management experience, preferably in aviation, manufacturing, industrial, or MRO environments.
  • Experience managing maintenance personnel, vendors, and contractors.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • HVAC systems
    • Electrical systems
    • Plumbing
    • Fire protection systems
    • Building automation systems
    • General facility maintenance
  • Experience managing budgets and capital improvement projects.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting an FAA-regulated aviation or MRO facility.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of airport facility requirements.
  • Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree is preferred but not required with equivalent experience.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or similar certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk large facilities and hangars for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work around maintenance equipment when necessary.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend availability for emergency facility issues.
