Job description

Mama Asian Kitchen is looking for a reliable, hardworking Line Cook to join our kitchen team. We are a fast-paced Asian restaurant focused on flavorful, high-quality food, consistent execution, and an excellent guest experience. The ideal candidate is passionate about cooking, works well under pressure, and takes pride in keeping a clean, organized, and efficient station.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, portion standards, and restaurant specifications.
  • Set up and maintain an organized station before, during, and after service.
  • Execute dishes quickly and consistently during busy periods.
  • Prepare ingredients including meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces, noodles, rice, and other components as assigned.
  • Follow proper cooking techniques, temperatures, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
  • Read and follow prep lists and daily production requirements.
  • Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and food-safety procedures.
  • Properly label, date, store, and rotate food using FIFO practices.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen teammates, servers, and management.
  • Keep work areas, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized.
  • Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties.
  • Help with prep and other kitchen responsibilities as needed.
  • Minimize food waste and properly handle ingredients and supplies.
  • Follow all company policies and health-department regulations.

Qualifications

  • Previous line cook or restaurant kitchen experience preferred.
  • Experience with Asian cuisine is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a hot, busy kitchen.
  • Ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
