Investment Analyst/Associate Portfolio Manager - PM program and Managed Program Trading

Role Summary

The Associate Portfolio Manager / Analyst will support multiasset trading, research, and portfolio management, executing trades, analyzing securities and alternative strategies, reviewing OMs, and contributing to portfolio construction, rebalancing, and performance/risk analysis. The role also works within the PM Program to support and evaluate iAPW's Portfolio Managers and APMs, providing highquality analytical insights and operational support across mandates.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

PM POOLS

  • Assist the Portfolio Manager in trading activity :

movements/net cash flows (redemptions and contributions, distributions, if any). Trade execution for PM pools, legacy SMA models

  • Conduct security research and evaluate managers/strategies.

  • Review Offering Memorandums and assessing alternative strategies' structure, risks, and return drivers.

  • Multiasset portfolio construction, rebalancing, and implementing from PM directives.

  • Conduct performance attribution, risk metrics analysis, and portfolio diagnostics.

  • Provide trade execution, order management, and maintaining accurate portfolio positioning.

  • Produce clear, concise investment reports, analytics, and recommendations for PMs.

  • Lead the development, review, and documentation of PM Pool KYP assessments in alignment with program standards.

PM Program

  • Respond to daily inquires from advisors

  • Assist the Portfolio Manager with adhoc data pulls, quick-turn analyses, presentation materials. Prepare, proof, and format documents, briefs, and presentations. Draft emails, circulate updates, and drive stakeholder followups to closure. Draft and distribute concise updates, meeting notes, and action summaries

  • Coordinate the Managed Account Committee agenda, applications and overall PM onboarding process

  • Manage the monthly PM supervision fee billing process by providing invoicing data to the Programs and Platforms Manager.

  • Supervision of the firm's APMs

  • Assess and report on the firm's Portfolio Managers' performance, including evaluation of returns, risk profiles, consistency of process, and adherence to mandate expectations.

Education & Qualifications

  • Currently registered as Associate Portfolio Manager or Portfolio Manager with a securities regulator

  • Very strong investment acumen and understanding of portfolio construction principles

  • Experience in portfolio allocation, portfolio rebalancing, trade execution and reconciliation

  • Good knowledge of alternative investments (real estate, private equity, private debt, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of the Canadian full-service wealth management space

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance or related fields

  • CFA or CIM designation

  • Must be fluent in English and French to communicate with advisors across the country

  • Strong technical skills in Excel, Bloomberg/FactSet (or equivalents), and portfolio analytics tools.

  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to operate in a fastpaced PM environment.

Experience

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the Canadian wealth or asset management industries
