Description
The Asset Management Analyst, IRE is responsible for providing broad analytical, reporting and administrative support to the IRE Asset Management team. This role will provide the Asset Management Analyst with exposure to various types of loan products to finance multifamily housing and credit analysis skills to assess the ongoing performance of the underlying assets that are necessary for a successful career in real estate finance.
Main responsibilities include the accurate onboarding of newly closed loans and spreading and review of quarterly property financial statements through Merchants Capital's System of Record. The Asset Management Analyst is an individual contributor role with some client-facing communication responsibilities.
A successful Asset Management Analyst in IRE Asset Management will be able to multitask to meet competing deadlines, be able to apply critical thinking in their analysis of ongoing property performance, escalate potential credit issues and be able to adapt well to changes in processes, procedures and technology.
Requirements
  • Spread and analyze quarterly financial statements.
  • Support the Asset Manager in tracking the required financials from Borrowers & Guarantors.
  • Assist the Asset Management Team with the onboarding of newly closed loans and collect executed closing binder from Loan Closing.
  • Conduct annual and bi-annual testing of financial covenants on applicable loans.
  • Support the Asset Managers in quarterly Loan Grading of the IRE portfolio.
  • Assist in the completion of quarterly Asset Summary Reports for deals that are participated, in debt funds or securitized.
  • Monitor property occupancy through rent roll analysis.
  • Assist in drafting credit memos for loan extensions, modifications, property management changes, etc.
  • Work closely with Tax and Insurance on annual escrow analysis.
  • Follow up internally and externally for required deliverables to remain in compliance with loan documents.
  • Assist in pulling due diligence documentation for upcoming securitization efforts by Capital Markets or in connection with audit requests.
  • Coordinate loan payoff with the Payoff team.
  • Conduct periodic site inspections.
  • Assist with other ad-hoc requests as needed.

Expected Experience, Skills, and Education:
  • Requires strong analytical skills for reviewing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Requires strong written and verbal communication with colleagues and clients and the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Requires excellent time management and organizational skills and a detailed approach to completing daily tasks.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant professional work experience with an emphasis on financial analysis, general loan administration, and/or real estate development financial management.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution accepted with 1 to 3 years of relevant professional work experience with an emphasis in financial analysis, general loan administration, and/or real estate development financial management.
