Job description

Accountant: Drive Financial Success at a High-Growth Tech Company

About Us

Effortless Admin is revolutionizing the employee benefits industry with our cutting-edge software. As we rapidly expand, we're seeking a talented accountant to join our dynamic team at College Plaza in Edmonton.

The Role

We're looking for someone who has found their calling in accounting — a professional who takes genuine pride in precision and has built real expertise over the course of their career. In this role, you'll manage our day-to-day financial operations with a focus on complex reconciliations across multiple systems and insurance carriers. You'll also bring leadership to the table, guiding and supporting two bookkeepers as a steady, knowledgeable resource.

What You'll Do

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, journal entries, and trust accounting
  • Perform complex reconciliations across multiple insurance carriers and internal systems
  • Conduct inter-system data reconciliation and billing verification
  • Handle fixed asset management and month-end closing processes
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight to two bookkeepers

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine appreciation for reconciliation, accuracy, and methodical, process-driven work
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly learn new software and adapt to evolving systems
  • Excellent communication skills for working with external partners and team members
  • Positive attitude, integrity, and alignment with our core value of putting people first
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with demonstrated depth in core accounting functions
  • Minimum two years of post-secondary accounting education, with ongoing professional development
  • CPA designation is an asset, but not required
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in multi-entity accounting or the insurance industry is a strong asset

Details

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • In-office at College Plaza, Edmonton
  • Monday to Friday, standard business hours

Our ideal candidate is someone who has spent meaningful time in accounting and genuinely enjoys the discipline it requires — finding satisfaction in structured, detail-oriented work and maintaining consistent processes. You've supported or mentored others and want a place where your expertise is valued and your work makes a real impact. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and cover letter to be considered.

Effortless Admin is committed to building diverse teams and an inclusive workplace. We encourage applications from all qualified candidates.
