Job description

Who You Are
The District Account Manager is responsible for direct sales of CNC and Motion Systems, including account management and sales coverage for assigned accounts and a strong focus on developing new business accounts within the designated district. Accounts include, but are not limited to, Machine Tool Builders, Machine Tool Retrofitters, Specialty Machine Builders, and Automation Integrators. This is a hybrid role, for someone who can comfortably commute to our West Campus location, where a workspace will be provided for you when working on-site.
How It's Done
  • Manage all activities within assigned accounts and districts, including direct sales efforts to plants and engineering offices, to meet or exceed CNC and Motion Systems unit targets
  • Apply effective selling techniques to new projects and opportunities, identify complex sales situations, and coordinate company resources to secure business and grow market share
  • Drive market share and revenue growth through proactive prospecting, including cold-calling, data mining, and lead follow-up, while building strong relationships with key personnel at all levels within customer organizations
  • Prepare and review quotations and proposals, ensuring accurate scope, pricing, and competitive advantages; negotiate terms to achieve successful sales outcomes.
  • Support sold projects by coordinating deliverables between customers and internal resources and provide feedback on product performance and customer requirements to influence product improvements
  • Maintain accurate forecasts and pipeline data, assist with overdue payment collection, and serve as the primary customer interface for inquiries related to materials, delivery, and technical support; organize and deliver presentations/demonstrations as needed
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% of the time by car or air, including visits to remote customer locations, to support customer requirements and business objectives in a timely fashion. Travel may also include attendance at trade shows and industry events, requiring approximately 3-4 overnight stays as needed.

What You Need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in a sales capacity, either as an engineer or in a related field
  • Minimum of two years CNC or Automation background and experience, with working knowledge and/or aptitude to be able to provide technical sales to machine tool builders, retrofitters, Specialty Machine Builders and Automation integrators
  • Proven track record of successful selling and strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong listening abilities and clear, effective written and verbal communication
  • Excellent management skills to manage accounts and to organize and plan for many simultaneous and complex issues
  • Knowledge and established contacts within specified customer base, or proven ability to be able to quickly establish same
  • Proficient in using personal computers and smart devices, with strong skills in Microsoft Office and related applications
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to drive throughout the organizations service area for business

What Would Be Even Better
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business-related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Three or more years' capital equipment in sales, CNC and automation equipment experience
