Self-Storage Relief Store Manager Scope of Position
The Relief Manager is responsible for a variety of tasks that support the Store Management Teams by promoting unit rentals, warranties, and moving supplies to exceed sales targets, all while ensuring high customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include guiding new customers through the rental process, confirming moving dates with potential clients, and managing past-due tenants. Daily tasks involve conducting property inspections, performing light maintenance, and managing paperwork for lien and auction processes. Effective communication with the Area Manager and Leadership Team is essential. This role requires flexibility to work across multiple locations, manage inventory, and ensure operational efficiency while balancing work and personal life. It combines customer service, inventory management, and property maintenance in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Self-Storage Relief Store Manager Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum two years of experience in storage, retail, or hospitality.

Self-Storage Relief Store Manager Responsibilities:

  • Exceeds sales goals by promoting unit rentals, warranties, and moving supplies while securing positive reviews.
  • Guides and assists new customers throughout the rental process to ensure smooth transactions. Provide exceptional customer service to existing clients, going above and beyond to meet their needs.
  • Personally, reaches out to potential clients to confirm their moving dates and secure their storage units.
  • Proactively manages past-due tenants and efficiently handle the necessary paperwork for lien and auction processes.
  • Conducts daily property inspections to ensure security, cleanliness, and proper upkeep, including checking locks, cleaning units, restocking supplies, and performing light maintenance tasks.
  • Communicates results, updates, and recommendations clearly and effectively to the Area Manager and the Leadership Team.
  • Be willing to travel occasionally to nearby locations for scheduled shifts and show flexibility for weekend and holiday work.
  • Be available for on-call emergency backup to address night and weekend security concerns and provide coverage across the district as needed.
