Position Overview 

ANS is seeking a versatile Total Rewards & HR Operations Manager to serve as a key owner of compensation, benefits, and HR operations processes. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this role will drive execution, improve processes, and help scale people practices across a multi-office, project-based organization. 

This is an ideal role for a highly detail-oriented and analytical HR professional who enjoys both hands-on execution and continuous improvement in a fast-growing environment.

What you’ll do
  • Compensation 

    • Support and enhance compensation programs, including benchmarking, job evaluations, and pay structure maintenance 

    • Partner on the design and execution of annual merit and bonus cycles, ensuring accuracy and timeliness 

    • Analyze market data and internal trends to provide insights and recommendations 

    • Maintain compensation documentation and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations 

    • Process and audit compensation changes in HR systems 

    Benefits 

    • Administer day-to-day benefits programs including 401k/retirement plans, ensuring a high level of service and accuracy 

    • Lead open enrollment execution, including coordination, communication, and system readiness 

    • Manage leave of absence processes (FMLA, ADA, state leaves) in a compliant and timely manner 

    • Partner with brokers and vendors to support benefits offerings and resolve issues 

    • Monitor market trends and support benefits benchmarking efforts 

    HR Operations & HRIS 

    • Own HR data integrity, audits, and reporting processes 

    • Enter new hire paperwork into HRIS and benefits systems 

    • Develop and deliver recurring and ad hoc HR reports, dashboards, and metrics 

    • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability 

    • Ensure accurate and timely employee data management within HR systems (SuitePeople, ADP) 

    • Partner cross-functionally to streamline workflows and improve the employee experience 

    Compliance, HR Administration & Cross-Training 

    • Maintain employee records in compliance with legal and company requirements 

    • Support compliance reporting (e.g., EEO-1, audits, and other regulatory needs) 

    • Ensure HR processes align with federal, state, and local regulations 

    • Act as back-up for payroll to cover vacation, absences, etc.

  •  Quickly develops a strong understanding of current processes and identifies opportunities to improve and scale 
  • Delivers accurate, timely execution of compensation and benefits programs with minimal errors 
  • Builds trust with managers and colleagues by providing clear guidance and responsive support 
  • Improves reporting accuracy, accessibility, and usefulness for decision-making 
  • Implements process improvements that increase efficiency and enhance the employee experience 
Requirements
  • • Bachelor’s degree required 

    • 5+ years of experience in HR operations, total rewards, or related functions 

    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 

    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends 

    • Customer-focused approach with strong communication skills (written and verbal) 

    • Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments 

    • Proficiency in HR systems (SuitePeople, ADP Workforce Now) and Microsoft Office 

Preferred Qualifications
  • • Experience in professional services, engineering, construction, or project-based environments 

    • Multi-state HR experience supporting distributed teams 

    • Experience supporting a blended workforce (office and field employees, multiple pay types) 

    • M&A integration or rapid growth experience 

    • SHRM-CP or HRCI certification
