Your Role in the Legacy Mission

As a Maintenance Assistant, you'll be responsible for supporting the upkeep of the building, equipment, and grounds. You'll respond promptly to repair requests, assist with preventative maintenance, and ensure that all systems operate safely and efficiently.

What You'll DoBuilding and Grounds Maintenance
  • Ensure that the residence and grounds are in excellent repair, providing a safe, attractive, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and team members.

  • Carry out preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and preserve equipment longevity.

  • Inspect the residence and grounds regularly, promptly identifying and reporting any areas in need of repair.

  • Check for maintenance requests daily and respond to all repair concerns quickly and courteously.

  • Prepare apartments or rooms for new residents, ensuring all fixtures, lighting, and systems are functioning properly.

  • Assist with the setup and cleanup of community events and programs.

  • Support lawn care, landscaping, and seasonal grounds maintenance.

  • Assist with other maintenance or housekeeping duties as assigned.

Maintenance of Systems
  • Assist with regular testing and documentation of fire protection and resident security systems as required by code.

  • Help maintain and monitor the HVAC system to ensure comfortable temperatures throughout the community.

  • Ensure all lighting fixtures are working properly and that replacement bulbs or parts are installed promptly.

  • Support plumbing system maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations.

  • Troubleshoot minor electrical, plumbing, or mechanical issues and escalate concerns when needed.

Ordering & Inventory
  • Maintain and organize supply and storage areas, keeping them neat, clean, and fully stocked.

  • Track maintenance supplies and tools, reporting shortages or replacement needs to the supervisor.

  • Ensure materials and equipment are stored securely to prevent injury or misuse.

Regulatory Compliance & Safety
  • Comply with all OSHA, MSDS, and residence safety codes and regulations.

  • Follow community policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for residents, employees, and visitors.

  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of trash, hazardous materials, and recyclables.

  • Participate in required safety and emergency preparedness training.
