Position Overview
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team and ensuring the effective operation of machinery and equipment in a food manufacturing environment. This role involves implementing maintenance schedules, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations to maintain a high standard of production.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance team activities to ensure operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for machinery and equipment in the food processing facility.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory of spare parts.
- Train and mentor maintenance staff on best practices and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with production management to minimize downtime and optimize machine performance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or similar role in food production or manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance processes and health and safety regulations in the food industry.
- Familiarity with food processing equipment and machinery, particularly in protein production.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
