Job description

Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a Maintenance Trade Helper to support a government contract based in Kings Bay, Georgia.

POSITION SUMMARY

Assists one or more workers in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill, such as keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools; cleaning work area, machine, and equipment; assisting journey-level worker by holding materials or tools; and performing other unskilled task as directed by craftsperson or pars of a trade that are also performed by workers on a full-time basis. The kind of work the helper is permitted to perform varies from trade to trade. In some trades the helper is confined to supply, lifting, holding materials and tools, and cleaning working areas. In others, they are permitted to perform specialized machine operations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Verifiable vocational training or one (1) year verifiable experience working in the field of construction or facilities maintenance and repair.
  • Must be able to follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license
  • Must have and wear hard-toed safety shoes which meet ASTM F2413-05 standards.
  • Successful candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must continually meet eligibility requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.

  • Climbing: Working up to 35 feet
  • Will be working from height's 6' to 200' off ground.
  • Will be working in confined spaces.

  • Personal Protective Equipment will be required.
