Maintenance Planner II (SAP S/4 HANA)

Location: 100% Remote

Job Type: Contract (3 Months with Potential Extension)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner II to support a large-scale maintenance planning initiative across multiple utility-scale and industrial sites. This role will focus on developing, rebuilding, and optimizing annual maintenance plans within SAP S/4 HANA while ensuring alignment with operational requirements, asset reliability objectives, and compliance standards.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience creating maintenance plans within SAP Plant Maintenance (PM), strong knowledge of industrial equipment, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop, modify, and optimize preventive maintenance plans in SAP S/4 HANA.
  • Create detailed maintenance schedules, task lists, and work plans for industrial assets.
  • Replicate and customize existing maintenance plan templates for site-specific equipment and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate planned and emergent maintenance activities with operations teams.
  • Develop comprehensive outage schedules and maintenance strategies.
SAP & Enterprise Asset Management
  • Utilize SAP PM and SAP S/4 HANA to create and manage maintenance plans, task lists, and work orders.
  • Execute daily planning activities using SAP T-Codes, including IA, IPO, and related transactions.
  • Maintain accurate equipment records, maintenance histories, and asset data.
  • Support Bills of Materials (BOMs), preventive maintenance programs, and plant hierarchy development.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance within the SAP environment.
Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze planned versus actual maintenance performance data.
  • Develop and maintain KPI reporting and maintenance metrics.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend best practices for maintenance planning.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Assist with onboarding new sites into SAP S/4 HANA.
  • Support implementation of engineering changes and standardized maintenance processes.
  • Provide regular updates and recommendations to project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as a Maintenance Planner, Planner Scheduler, Project Scheduler, or related role.
  • Strong hands-on experience using SAP S/4 HANA Plant Maintenance (PM).
  • Proficiency with SAP T-Codes including IA, IPO, and task list transactions.
  • Experience creating and managing preventive maintenance plans within SAP.
  • Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment such as generators, gearboxes, motors, and related assets.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in utilities, power generation, renewable energy, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
  • Familiarity with NERC compliance requirements.
  • Experience interpreting substation electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of SAP Service & Asset Management.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
