The Maintenance Shift Manager provides front-line leadership for maintenance and facility operations personnel supporting Exentec's Technical Facility Management operation. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical facility systems through the effective execution of maintenance activities during assigned shifts.
The Site Maintenance Shift Manager operates within a 24x7 mission-critical semiconductor manufacturing environment supporting production operations where facility uptime, safety, and rapid response are essential to manufacturing success. This position serves as the primary maintenance leader on shift, coordinating maintenance resources, responding to equipment issues, and ensuring compliance with operational, safety, and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership skills, technical expertise, decision-making capability, and the ability to lead technicians in a fast-paced operational environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer service.

Safety Leadership

  • Promote Exentec's Incident Free Workplace culture during all shift activities.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is performed in accordance with site safety procedures.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and shift turnover meetings.
  • Verify compliance with LOTO, confined space, hot work, and permit-to-work requirements.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
  • Reinforce safe work practices and hazard recognition among shift personnel.

Shift Operations Management

  • Direct and coordinate all maintenance activities during assigned shifts.
  • Prioritize work assignments based on operational and production requirements.
  • Manage emergency maintenance response activities.
  • Ensure timely escalation of critical facility issues.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with operations, engineering, and production personnel.
  • Conduct effective shift turnover communication.
  • Maintain operational readiness of critical facility systems.

Maintenance Execution

  • Ensure completion of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Monitor work order completion and schedule compliance.
  • Review maintenance quality and workmanship.
  • Support troubleshooting and restoration of failed systems.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities.
  • Verify maintenance procedures are followed consistently.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and develop maintenance technicians.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Support technical qualification and training programs.
  • Monitor workforce productivity and effectiveness.
  • Promote teamwork and accountability.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new personnel.

Customer & Operational Support

  • Serve as primary maintenance point of contact during assigned shifts.
  • Communicate facility status and maintenance activities to customers and site leadership.
  • Coordinate responses to production-impacting events.
  • Support operational meetings and shift handoffs.
  • Ensure timely communication of critical system issues.

  • Associate's Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Equivalent maintenance leadership experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 7+ years of maintenance experience in semiconductor, critical facilities, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting critical facility systems including:
  • Specialty Gas Delivery Systems
  • Chemical Distribution Systems
  • Ultra-Pure Water Systems
  • HVAC Systems
  • Process Cooling Water Systems
  • Exhaust and Abatement Systems
  • Electrical Distribution Systems
  • Experience leading maintenance personnel in a 24x7 manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor facility systems.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Experience with CMMS work management systems.
  • Ability to make rapid operational decisions during equipment failures.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
