Join Our Team – Maintenance Manager
Location: Springfield, MO

We are an established manufacturing company seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance function and help ensure our equipment, facility, and production systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical maintenance skills with the ability to lead employees, coordinate projects, and support day-to-day production needs.


Job Overview

As the Maintenance Manager, you will lead the maintenance function while working hands-on alongside the maintenance team. You will perform troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment installations, and emergency repairs while also managing maintenance schedules, projects, documentation, contractors, and team members. This position requires strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, hands-on HVAC experience, and the ability to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, schedule, and support maintenance team members and outside contractors while actively participating in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work.
• Develop training for maintenance team members on equipment, maintenance best practices, and safety procedures.
• Remain actively involved in daily hands-on maintenance, including diagnosing equipment failures, completing repairs, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting with equipment installations.
• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for production machinery, HVAC, electrical systems, mechanical components, building systems, and facility equipment.
• Prioritize maintenance requests and coordinate repairs with production leadership to minimize downtime and operational disruption.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC/R, and control-system issues using an ohmmeter and other diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain accurate work orders, equipment records, inspection logs, and maintenance documentation.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facility systems to identify concerns before they escalate.
• Manage spare-parts inventory, vendor relationships, service agreements, and maintenance-related purchasing.
• Collaborate with project and production leadership to plan and complete equipment installations, facility projects, process improvements, and capital projects.
• Monitor maintenance costs and assist with developing and managing the department budget.
• Ensure maintenance activities and inspections follow company safety requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Provide support during emergency repairs and equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Identify recurring equipment issues, determine root causes, and implement lasting corrective actions.
• Fabricate parts or components as needed to support maintenance and repair activities.


Skills amp; Requirements

• Proven hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong electrical and mechanical skills; experience leading maintenance employees, projects, or operations is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial electrical systems, motors, controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, and preventive maintenance practices.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, electrical systems, and high-voltage applications.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, equipment manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills; familiarity with project management principles is a plus.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to urgent equipment issues.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), work orders, maintenance records, and inventory controls.
• Ability to work independently, lead a diverse team effectively, and collaborate across departments in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and perform the physical requirements of the position.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must pass a background check.


Schedule amp; Pay

Full-time, Monday–Friday, day shift
Additional hours, early mornings, evenings, or weekends may be required based on operational needs
Pay: From $75,000 per year
Major holidays off
