Regional Float Director of Maintenance

Position Summary:

The Regional Float Director of Maintenance provides comprehensive guidance and support to facility Maintenance Directors, overseeing safe, efficient building operations, equipment systems, and outdoor areas. This role ensures full regulatory compliance with federal, state, and facility standards, including safety, infection control, Life Safety, and emergency preparedness. The position assists with hiring, training, evaluating, and mentoring Maintenance Directors, offering technical expertise, performance oversight, and skill-gap support. Responsibilities also include coordinating preventive maintenance, documenting repairs, managing inventory and budgeting for supplies, and working with vendors. Additionally, the Regional Float Director participates in audits, inspections, and continuous quality improvement initiatives to maintain high operational standards and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications:

·       Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of general maintenance systems (HVAC, boilers, electrical, refrigeration); Boiler license required, MN Class C Engineer license preferred.

·       Relevant Experience: Preferred background in healthcare or long-term care facilities; high school diploma and at least 2 years of maintenance or power plant experience desirable.

·       Leadership & Communication: Must demonstrate leadership, teamwork, adaptability, and effective communication across departments and with diverse populations.

·       Personal Skills & Compliance: High emotional intelligence, resilience, multitasking ability, and must pass a background check per Minnesota DHS guidelines.
