Summary ofDuties:

  • Responsible forroutinecleaning, upkeep,and general maintenance of the facilityto include:
    • Emergency & Urgent CareBuildings
    • Indoor and external environments, including pet walking areas
  • Completesvarious tasks related tothe aboveareas to include, but limited to:
    • Weekly, monthly,and semi-annualfrequency
    • Deep cleaning ofall rooms and zones, including offices, exam rooms, bathrooms, lobbies,breakrooms,and hallways
    • Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, walls, doors,ceilings, vent,and windows
    • Stocking and distributing of janitorial and cleaning supplies
    • Sweeping & mopping, including the use ofautomated floor machines
    • Spot cleaning various locations as needed
  • Assistsinidentifyingfacilityand equipmentfor safety hazards,reportsdeficiencies to management.
  • Fulfillsotherduties as expected ofaFacility Maintenance Assistant.


EducationandExperience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Mustpass a background check.
  • Prior veterinary experience is notrequired, but highly desired.


Schedule:

  • Work schedule may be eitherfull orpart-timebased on business conditions.
  • Shiftscan beflexible butshall not exceed 12 hoursper day.
  • Overtime is achieved for hours greater than 40 in any work week, defined as Sunday through Monday.
  • This position is exempt fromdifferentialsbut is eligible for holiday pay andannual revenue bonus programs as defined by EVH.


Working and Physical Conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for a veterinary emergency hospital.
  • The noise level is moderate to high and includes business machines, medical equipment, and patients barking/howling.
  • Prolongedperiodsstanding and walking, and frequent sitting, kneeling, and bending.
  • Potential exposure to infectious diseases, aggressive animals, and potentially toxic medication/treatment agents.
  • Equipment operation may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limitedto:eye safety glasses and gloves and nitrile gloves, ladder, stepstool, etc.
  • Frequently lifting materials and inventory up to 40 lbs., independently.
