Position Summary:
A Lettershop Machine Operator is responsible for operating and controlling equipment to produce mail products-including printed materials, envelopes, and mail pieces-per customer specifications and standard operating procedures. This role ensures the efficient, accurate, and high-quality production of output while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare pallets and trays,identify pallet and tray breaks, and sort product accordingly
- Read and interpret productionorders to determine item types, sizes, and codes for printing and mailing.
• Prepare paper rolls and load them into the mailing equipment.
• Load inserting and envelope materials onto machines using loading racks.
• Operate machines that automatically fold letters, place inserts, address envelopes, and segregate destination codes.
• Monitor machine operations to detect and troubleshoot malfunctions promptly.
• Use computer-controlled equipment to direct mail items according to routing schemes.
• Determine mailing methods and prepare mail for delivery to postal facilities.
• Sort outgoing mail into bins based on destination or type and affix appropriate identification tags.
• Perform light maintenance tasks such as adding ink, filling paste reservoirs, clearing jams, and performing minor repairs.
• Conduct quality checks on machine output to identify defects and implement corrective actions.
• Adjust guides, rollers, envelopes, and insertion bins using rulers and hand tools for proper operation.
• Adhere to schedules and production plans to ensure the timely completion of tasks.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Follow established procedures and safety protocols, working within company safety standards, rules, andprotocols
• Performs other duties that may be assigned
Requirements
Essential:
• Skilled in machine operations and monitoring
• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds
• Knowledge of Production and Processing
• Reliability and dependability.
