JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Machine Sales Representative
Reports to: Machine Sales Manager - Pacific Region
FLSA Status: Exempt
Division: HPC
Locations: Waipahu
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Machine Sales Manager, the Machine Sales Representative is accountable for the strategic planning, sales (retail), and marketing for an assigned customer account list. The Machine Sales Representative will contact assigned customers to achieve maximum sales and profit for the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Develops, implements, and executes a marketing plan for an assigned customer base.
  2. Prepares and delivers professional sales presentations and quotations to include the follow up necessary to secure the business.
  3. Develops and expands current customer database and updates monthly.
  4. Establishes and maintains a machine ownership list of equipment owned by customers on the call list.
  5. Submits a summary of account activity on a monthly basis.
  6. Provides financial counseling/marketing to entire customer base, upon request, to facilitate sales. Ensures customers are invoiced and funds received by the Company in a timely manner.
  7. Generates "Cold Calls" to develop new accounts and add to database.
  8. Controls expenses required in transacting sales.
  9. Potential opportunity of developing the position as a Hybrid MSR and technical role which will have responsibilities for island wide machine deliveries and familiarizations.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must have a valid Drivers License with a good driving record.
  3. Must have a minimum of 7 years industry and product specific sales experience.
  4. Must have PC skills.
  5. Must possess extensive Caterpillar product knowledge in construction and compact equipment.
  6. Must be responsive to specific market trends and needs through proactive, direct customer contact.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  1. Walking: Moves about on foot, often through uneven terrain and up and down stairs.
  2. Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.
  3. Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts, small tools, batteries, tampers, and other small equipment.
  4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
  5. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
  6. Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
  7. Climbing: In and out of equipment.
  8. Vision: Reads spec sheets, invoices, parts books, and service manuals.
  9. Talking: Communicates by phone and in person.
  10. Sitting: Sits at a desk or in vehicle for extended periods.
  11. Lifting: Lifts up to 60lbs. daily, frequent exertion.

ENVIRONMENTAL:
  1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
  2. Temp/Weather: Works in both office and outdoor environments.
