Job description

Title: Machine Operator

Location: Des Moines, Iowa

This position is responsible for the performance of all duties in the Wire Cutting and Terminating departments. The Machine Operator will work closely with the Team Leader to ensure that all items are built according to the customer specifications. Must have good organizational skills with the ability to maintain a systematic and accurate approach. Must be able to work independently, shift priorities as needed and work well with others. Other duties as assigned by upper management.

Key Responsibilities:

· Performance of the production functions relative to key metrics, e.g., throughput, labor efficiency, quality, housekeeping, safety, and delivery.

· Follow defined work instructions to operate wire cutting / terminating automated and manual machinery to complete work according to IPC standards. • Follow quality testing techniques. Inspect products using precision gauges, measuring instruments and equipment.

· Follow paperwork, shop order, cut sheet

· Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams.

· Issue time and labor utilizing the SWX MRP system.

· Set-up, run, identify, and diagnose machine issues, and adjust automated machinery within company guidelines.

· Identify and quarantine non-conforming raw material and finished goods and notify management of non-conforming material.

· Adhere to company quality expectations.

· Follow all safety rules.

· Maintain an orderly workstation.

· Must be able to lift, up to 40lbs and up to 70lbs with assistance when needed.

Education & Qualifications:

· Occasional lifting of 20-40 lbs.

· Standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.

· Ability to read measurements on yard sticks, meter sticks or tape measures.

· Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.

· Must be able to work alongside others as well as independently.

· Must have keen attention to detail to identify maintenance, product or operation issues.

· Basic knowledge of manufacturing principles and processes.

· Computer literacy.
