Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machine Mechanic to join our peanut butter manufacturing plant. The Machine Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment used in the production process. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues with production machinery, including but not limited to conveyors, mixers, packaging equipment, and filling machines.
  • Conduct repairs and replacements of defective parts as needed, utilizing hand and power tools.
  • Coordinate with production supervisors and operators to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to production schedules.
  • Document maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts used, and any additional recommendations for improvement.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment as needed.
  • Train and mentor junior maintenance staff as required.

Pay:
Negotiable based on experience. Competitive compensation package offered, including benefits such as health insurance, and paid time off.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Machine Mechanic or similar role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in mechanical or industrial maintenance is preferred.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with team members at all levels.
