Job description

About the Position: Fort Stewart is the largest Department of Defense installation east of the Mississippi River, covering approximately 280,000 acres across five Georgia counties. Located near Hinesville, Georgia, it serves as a premier power projection platform for the U.S. Army.Qualifications:Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job.   • Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronics Mechanic Leader without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to Lead or Supervise common Electronics Mechanic duties that include using test equipment to diagnose malfunctions, as well as troubleshooting to determine the cause of malfunctions. I can use and operate multimeter, oscilloscopes, and automated test set to diagnose, test and repair electronics equipment. I am skilled in repairing a variety of electronics equipment, systems and devices. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.

  • Use of Test Equipment: Electronics
  • Physical Effort: Lifts and carries target mechanisms and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Assistance is available when carrying heavier equipment for long distances. Work requires frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, working in cramped positions, and climbing up and down stairs.
  • Working Conditions: Works inside and outside during all types of weather conditions. Works on remote ranges in rough terrain. Is exposed to the possibility of abrasions, cuts, bruises, burns, electrical shock, falls, and explosions. Hearing protection devices, hard hats, and other safety equipment and devices are issued and available for use.
