Machine Maintenance
Basic Scope/Purpose: (The job's primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.)
Provides full maintenance support coverage for all manufacturing departments as needed.
Principal Accountabilities: (The job's essential or most important functions and responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)
• Perform all responsibilities in a safe manner using the Take 5 system for all non-standard work.
• Perform scheduled maintenance activities on all processing equipment.
• Diagnose and repair equipment failures.
• Recommend and implement changes that will improve equipment reliability.
• Support production as needed.
• Demonstrated proficiency w/ eMaint.
• Determine material required for necessary repairs.
• Utilize skills and knowledge in performance of daily repairs (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic of processing equipment).
• Inform department supervisor/manager of diagnosis, approximate repair time and assistance required for specific project/department.
• Follow all procedures such as lockout/tag out and safety procedures.
• Complete all jobs in and orderly manner.
• Strive for breakdown recurrence prevention.
• Communicates effectively with associates, mangers, etc. (written and verbal).
• Shares information /issues with relevant personnel.
• Contributes to the team effort by listening to and using good judgment of co-worker's ideas; training associates as needed; accomplishing related results as needed.
• Manage projects as assigned.
• Assist in monitoring all contractors on site and that they follow all applicable rules
• Assist maintenance supervisor with job site preparation and ordering material
• Use ERP System to enter order requisition and check on purchase orders

• Maintain and promote Fenner Precision Polymers' values and behaviors at all times.
• Performs all the tasks related to machinery outlined in Manufacturing Support Mechanic I.
• Assist the engineering group with the design and fabrication of production equipment.
• Able to train and mentor maintenance associates.
• Assist manufacturing engineering with projects as needed.
• Demonstrates an understanding of all product requirements and processing capabilities.
• Is proficient in troubleshooting automated equipment and controls.
• Performs all the tasks related to machinery outlined in Manufacturing Support Mechanic I & II.
• Specializes in the development, installation and repair of automated equipment.
• Coordinates and/or provides assistance with all machinery purchases, installations and upgrades.
• Provides electrical and automation expertise during in-house machine builds, working with Engineering as required.
• Designs electrical and automation systems for in-house machine builds.
• Creates and maintains proper documentation of electrical schematics and control systems.
• Coordinates outside vendors to provide assistance with maintenance and automation projects as needed.
• Designs PLC and data collection programs, as needed.
• Researches and applies new technologies to advance the manufacturing processes.
• Ensures all equipment meets applicable safety requirements.
• Performs all the tasks related to machinery outlined in Manufacturing Support Mechanic I & II & III.
• Schedules maintenance programs and processes for an assigned plant production facility.
• Performs preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses the more complex equipment problems.
• Evaluates the need for replacement parts and places orders for needed tools.

• Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• Must have at least 2 years' experience performing troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment including related mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.

• PC literacy in basic MS Office applications and AutoCAD, preferred.

• Six Sigma Yellow Belt required; Green Belt preferred.
