Overview
The Coater Helper perform routine but varied duties on the manufacturing floor in accordance with standard operating procedures. Responsibilities include to set-up of the machine, materials, assisting the Coater Operator, and maintaining quality of work produced.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Obtains and verifies that correct materials are being used i.e. silicone and adhesive.
โ€ข Sets up and operates silicone head and glue head.
โ€ข Assist Coater Operator in set-up with the back-up roll width change i.e., mount rolls of paper on coating machines.
โ€ข Inserts metal shaft through core of paper roll, positions roll on machine unwind, using hoist, and clamps chucks or shafts in bearings.
โ€ข Assists Coater Operator in obtaining correct weights i.e., keep the adhesive supply levels steady for consistency in the coat weights and watching for unusual changes in the profile of the adhesive.
โ€ข Mixes silicone or adhesive to specs.
โ€ข Initiate action to prevent occurrence of non-conformities relating to products, process and quality system.
โ€ข Visually inspects the material and adhesive during the coating process for defects.
โ€ข Continuously monitors the quality of the product and notifies Coater Operator of any non-conformance.
โ€ข Assist as trained or directed by Coater Operator to properly sets air pressure, brake tension, temperature dials, buttons, and gauges to start and operate machine according to the parameters of the work order.
โ€ข Monitor equipment and process output.
โ€ข Read/follow written process instructions and follow verbal instructions.
โ€ข Works to a daily schedule and must meet or exceed output targets by understanding the product flow and handling procedures within the department.
โ€ข May provide training to other team members as assigned.
Other Responsibilities
โ€ข Assist as helper on the machines upon completion of cross-training as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education and/or Experience:
โ€ข High School Diploma or GED
โ€ข Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
โ€ข Must be able to become forklift certified
โ€ข Ability to stand for extended periods of time
โ€ข Must be able to read scales
โ€ข Understand written and verbal instructions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
