Lumos is now hiring a highly skilled and motivated IT Engineer - Infrastructure Network who will provide technology vision and hands-on leadership in the implementation, management, and optimization of enterprise infrastructure and network platforms for Lumos technology systems. You will provide strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, deployment and ongoing infrastructure and enterprise network support of enterprise back-office platforms.

What You'll Do:

Network and Related Architecture Administration and Support

  • Securely maintain and support the internal and external corporate network infrastructure including all routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, and virtual networking equipment.
  • Further assist with network system administration including DNS, DHCP, and other IPAM functionality.
  • Provide technical leadership across the company for network infrastructure.

Secure Cloud Communication Administration

  • Create, maintain, and support secure communication between corporate networks and remote networks, include business to business VPN, remote access VPN, and cloud systems connectivity, with special emphasis on Salesforce and AWS environments.

Network Systems Administration & Monitoring

  • Administer and support the various systems in use by the information technology team, including virtual environments, identity and access management, and Windows and Linux systems.
  • Implement and support monitoring of systems, both on-premises and in the cloud, using Splunk or similar systems.
  • Develop and enhance monitoring configurations to ensure visibility.

Tickets & Escalations, Incident Response & Investigation

  • Evaluate escalation requests from front line support teams and provide approvals or alternative guidance as required.
  • Investigate reported incidents, creating thorough documentation of all activity and findings.
  • Analyze complex issues and provide custom solutions to further business and customer needs involving networking, virtual private network (VPN) services, firewall requests, and other networking services.

Vulnerability, Network, Firewall, and Identity Management

  • Participate in and advise on routine vulnerability scans and penetration tests.
  • Analyze vulnerability results and manage the remediation process.
  • Establish vulnerability performance indicators and develop reports.
  • Collaborate with other infrastructure team members with identity management and multi-factor authentication.

Network and Security Design Development

  • Participates in network and security design, configuration, and testing activities for both corporate and customer facing network infrastructure.
  • Investigates, tests, recommends, and implements.
  • Related duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience (M.S. preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in a network infrastructure administration role. Network related certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE) preferred.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • Demonstrated experience with complex LAN, VxLAN, WAN, and multi-site Data Center routing, switching, and ISP environments in multiple vendor environments including Cisco and VMWare virtual networking
  • Demonstrated experience with Cico ACI network micro-segmentation multi-Pod environment
  • Strong understanding of network routing and switching protocols required, with demonstrated skills in BGP, OSPF, EIGRP and network services such as DNS, DHCP, and IPAM and associated management systems
  • Strong familiarity with firewall and VPN technologies in a Palo Alto ecosystem with multiple firewalls managed by Panorama
  • Experience with cloud network and/or security desirable, specifically Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
  • Familiarity with network configuration, automation tooling, telemetry, and authentication technologies
  • Familiarity with enterprise level wireless networking, and associated systems and controllers, with preference for Aruba experience
  • Familiarity with SIEM technologies, Splunk preferable
  • Resourcefulness and self-motivation with the ability to work independently is required
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task activities with shifting priorities

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular use of computers, phones, and standard IT equipment.
  • The ability to move and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching during equipment installation or servicing.
  • Travel to Lumos locations as needed, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Work in office, field, and construction site environments in various weather conditions.
  • Continuous use of vision, hearing, speech, and reasoning to perform job duties.
