Job description

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to day-to-day projects and LTP expectations through the leading and execution of maintenance projects, such as through troubleshooting, executing PM, corrective maintenance and assisting the Maintenance team: 
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Maintenance team, including providing feedback and conducting formal evaluations, to ensure employees have the right resource skills, competencies, and expertise to meet departments and agreed-upon objectives of the company: 
  • Completion of administrative duties within the department such as approving employee over-time, leading Dayforce updates, and ensuring vacation schedules are distributed and approved in a timely manner 
  • Lead shift hand over meetings on a daily basis, providing project updates, assigning jobs, and communicate counter measures when applicable 
  • Support Maintenance Cost Containment objectives by tracking labor OT 
  • Conduct workplace inspections at the assigned company location regarding safety, GMP violations, production line and equipment issues: 
  • Be an example for others by always directing and performing work in a safe manner and following company’s health and safety policy and procedures 

Recipe for Success: 

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering or related field preferred 
  • Minimum 5 years of prior maintenance supervisory experience in a production-manufacturing environment (within food services/baking a strong asset) 
  • Excellent problem solver with strong troubleshooting skills 
  • Advanced working knowledge on mechanical/electrical systems and components 
  • Working knowledge and experience on Automation; Industrial Process and Control system; PLC; Measuring Devices; Instrumentation; Robotic Application; Bulk Handling System 
  • Working knowledge and experience on Facility Maintenance and Plant Equipment 
  • Planning, scheduling & assigning ability while well experienced in defining priorities, required skills & resources 
  • Computer-savvy; holds practical knowledge on CMMS and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point)
  • Multitasked in a fast-paced environment with lots of changes in direction based on business requirement 
  • Being an example for others; a Safety-Oriented Supervisor with a positive “can do attitude"
  • Holding strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills
