Sales – Account Manager

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Daily, face-to-face, sales calls with existing customers to retain and grow wallet share.
  • Prospect, qualify, and secure new business opportunities in assigned sales territory to grow market share.
  • Collaborate with the Pricing, Admin Support teams, and Terminal Management to bring peace of mind to customers throughout the shipping process.
  • Attend Oak Harbor Driver meetings to educate drivers on how to spot “good freight” and provide new shipping leads. Follow up with Drivers on how their leads worked out.
  • Compile weekly sales recaps on achievements, losses, and possible opportunities.
  • Train customers on the use and advantages of API/webservices.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Consultative, problem solver with strong analytical skills and the ability to identify root issues and provide comprehensive solutions.
  • Success in developing client-focused solutions to satisfy customer needs.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at the same time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
  • Ability to negotiate initial contracts and annual renewals to maximize a win-win solution.
  • Passion to sell with character & integrity, willing to look a customer in the eyes and tell them the hard truth when needed.
  • Clean driving record and evidence of insurability is required.
  • Strong PC proficiency, email etiquette, and experience using MS Office products preferred.
  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Sales, or relevant experience preferred.
  • LTL sales experience is preferred.
  • Experience training customers on the advantage of API/webservices is preferred.
  • Understanding of industry trends and financial impact is preferred.
