The Student Support Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing student engagement programs, academic support initiatives, and co-curricular experiences within the College of Engineering. This role supports student success through program coordination, stakeholder collaboration, event planning and management, student organization support, and data-informed continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:


Faculty Development & Instructional Support (25%)
  • Assist with planning and delivery of faculty development programs, including training for recitation instructors and coaches.
  • Support development of instructional materials and resources (e.g., Moodle content).
  • Participate in observations, evaluations, and continuous support of instructional practices for recitation coaches.
  • Coordinate logistics for faculty events such as New Faculty Orientation.

Student Organizations & Co-Curricular Programs (25%)
  • Coordinate and serve as the main point of contact for several extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, including: Big Sibling Program Engineering Tiger Connections College of Engineering Student Organization Support and Funding Program
  • Collaborate as part of the administration team for these programs.
  • Manage program budgets, track expenditures, and submit required financial documentation in compliance with university policies.
  • Coordinate across departments to ensure alignment with college goals and priorities.

Scholarship-Based Programs & Student Engagement (25%)
  • Collaborate with Director(s) to facilitate scholarship-based programs, such as: ExxonMobil Scholars Chevron Leadership Academy
  • Coordinate communications, onboarding, and engagement activities for scholarship recipients.
  • Plan and facilitate program events, including orientations, workshops, and webinars.
  • Collect, analyze, and report student data for annual program assessment.
  • Collaborate with corporate partners and stakeholders through regular meetings.
  • Identify program needs and contribute to strategic planning and funding proposals.

Chevron Center Operations & Student Worker Management (10%)
  • Assist with day-to-day operations and scheduling of the Chevron Center for Engineering Education.
  • Schedule and manage student worker training.
  • Address customer service issues with student-clients.
  • Coordinate with the campus-wide Geaux Communicate program.
  • Oversee day-to-day management of approximately 30 student workers.

K-12 Outreach & Camp Coordination (10%)
  • Assist with coordinating logistics for K-12 outreach camps, including: Procurement of instructional materials Meals Housing Transportation
  • Support curriculum implementation and facilitate student engagement activities.
  • Supervise students during on-campus and off-campus activities, including industry and research site visits.
  • Address student needs, including behavioral management and individual support.

Recruitment, Outreach & Special Events (5%)
  • Assist with College of Engineering recruiting and outreach events.
  • Support commencement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with organizing and executing STEM educational programs for students. Experience coordinating student programs at an institute of higher education, k-12 or university teaching experience, exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Physical - This position will require a physical evaluation based on the physical demands required.
