Group Sales Manager

Rate of Pay: $74,000-81,000 plus bonus
What you will be doing:
  • Handle all aspects of Sales for groups of 8-75 rooms on peak night in assigned market.
  • Develop and maintain customer base in all assigned markets.
  • Achieve or Exceed personal sales goals, monthly, quarterly, annually, through account development and maintenance.
  • Attend Sales Meetings, office events, hotel-sponsored functions, and industry functions, including those that may involve overnight travel
  • Develop lead sources and rapport with key personnel, Fairmont Global Sales Office sellers and assigned client base.
  • Maintain active membership in industry related organizations and associations pertaining to the specific market.
  • Support goals, objectives and philosophies of the Brand and the Fairmont Washington DC.
    Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
  • Support ALL - Accor Live Limitless loyalty program and ALL Meeting Planner loyalty program through product knowledge and member enrollments;
  • Identify and execute key action steps each quarter that will achieve booking goals
  • Work directly with the Director of Sales and the Director of Revenue Management to meet and exceed budgeted group room rates
  • Actively target and solicit new business within the territory assigned
  • Stay familiar with industry trends via appropriate publications/trade memberships if necessary
  • Able to think strategically and maximize our group potential over required periods to include use of meeting space for meetings and events. Arrival and departure patterns that fit with the hotel business needs
  • Follow up on leads in a timely and professional manner within the respective territory both by telephone and by written correspondence
  • Fully qualify each Group business opportunity to understand the full potential of the booking and account
  • Develop and maintain close and effective working relationships with all supporting departments
  • Coordinate with conventions services on groups involving rooms and banquet revenue; adhering to all Fairmont Brand sales standards by providing accurate, comprehensive turnover reports
  • Participation required at Fairmont sales training workshops as applicable and achieving acceptable shop scores per the company standard
  • Participate in all assigned Fairmont Brand sales events and trade shows, involves preparation of events, invitation of clients and facilitating of event
  • Overnight travel which may include weekends to conduct ongoing sales calls to clients in your territory

Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
  • Previous experience in luxury hospitality sales strongly preferred
  • Strong prospecting and contract negotiation skills.
  • A passion for guest service and excellence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, preferably hospitality related
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
  • Constant standing, walking, sitting throughout shift
  • Lifting pushing and pulling up to 20lbs
