Description

Kaytee is seeking Warehouse Supervisor on 1st shift to be part of our Central Specialty division based in Chilton, WI. In the role the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory movement, pallet picking for outbound customer orders, and compliance with safety and food handling regulations. They ensure efficient storage and distribution of products and supplies, maintain accurate inventory levels, and lead the team to meet productivity and quality standards while ensuring all operations are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently using the SAP ERP system. The role involves close coordination with production, logistics, and quality teams to support smooth supply chain operations while upholding Kaytee’s standards for safety, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
· Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations for shipping, receiving, pallet picking, staging, and outbound order fulfillment.
· Manage staffing levels, assignments, overtime, priorities and performance to maximize productivity and customer service.
· Lead, train, coach, and develop a team of approximately 30 warehouse associates across multiple shifts or departments.
· Utilize SAP ERP system to manage inventory transactions, shipping documentation, receiving records, and order processing activities.
· Ensure accurate picking, packing, and shipment of outbound pallet orders to meet customer delivery requirements.
· Oversee inbound receiving activities, including unloading, inspection, inventory verification, and system transactions.
· Monitor workflow and labor allocation to achieve productivity, accuracy, and service-level goals.
· Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and proper transaction processing within SAP.
· Enforce company safety policies, OSHA compliance, and warehouse best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
· Coordinate with transportation, customer service, production, and inventory control teams to resolve operational issues.
· Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, inventory variances, and process inefficiencies.
· Track and report warehouse KPIs including productivity, order accuracy, on-time shipping, and inventory performance.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve warehouse efficiency, space utilization, and operational performance.
· Ensure proper maintenance and safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment.
· Monitor product code-dates and ensure compliance with product rotation and customer dating requirements.
· Responsible for reporting any Food Safety issues to authorized personnel for correction.
Qualifications
· Minimum of 3-5 years’ previous supervisory experience in a warehouse or similar fast-paced environment. A Supervisory Management Degree is highly desirable.
· Solid understanding of warehouse operations, processes, and safety procedures.
· Ability to define performance measures related to defined goals; hold associates accountable for the same.
· Proven leader who fosters teamwork, collaboration, and a positive workplace culture.
· Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Demonstrates initiative, reliability, and a commitment to safety and excellence.
· Positive attitude with strong interpersonal and team-building abilities.
· Ability to motivate, develop and direct people.
· Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
· Ability to obtain a Kaytee Forklift license.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP is helpful; but will train.
· Experience with KPI reporting and warehouse metrics.
· Experience with RF scanners and barcode systems.
· Ability to perform basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiple and divide).
· Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
· Ability to lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
· Must meet internal performance and attendance standards.
Work Conditions
· Work is performed in a warehouse environment.
· Warehouse temperatures can vary due to outside temperatures.
· Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours and average at least 40 hours a week.
· There may be some variation in work hours due to overtime, special projects, deadlines, and other concerns.
