To thrive as a Local Intermodal Truck Driver, you need a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), a clean driving record, and knowledge of freight handling and safety regulations. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation systems, and intermodal container protocols is typically required. Local Intermodal drivers often deal with tight delivery schedules, traffic congestion near rail yards, and the need for efficient coordination between rail and trucking operations. Building a good understanding of terminal procedures and maintaining flexibility can help drivers navigate delays and maximize productivity, ensuring timely deliveries and job satisfaction.

What are local intermodal jobs?
