About this Position
The Loading Dock Manager will oversee the work of the loading dock to ensure efficient and safe movement of materials from dock by providing leadership, direction, and order to the loading dock activities at OSU-CHS. LD Manager will plan, coordinate and supervise shipping and receiving schedules, will be responsible for accurate tracking of all materials received at the loading docks, ensure that they are properly delivered to appropriate parties and received, and maintains relationships with all contractors to ensure all personnel are aware of and adhering to facility policies and applicable laws. LD Manager will work closely with Event Managers, Safety Department, and Facilities to review any special requests relating to equipment storage or other adjustments as needed to dock area. They will assist with the Fleet vehicles available to the CHS campus. Cleaning, refueling, obtaining bids for repairs and maintenance, and the delivery / pickup of above-mentioned fleet vehicles from repair shops and maintenance facilities.
Loading Dock Manager will provide backup to the Mail Clerk, Central Duplicating Clerk and Bookstore Manager..
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Must be forklift certified or able to obtain certification

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
  • Must know OSHA guidelines and safety regulations pertaining to loading docks, forklifts and material handling safety, chemical handling, proper chemical storage and potential spill clean-up process and procedures.
  • Should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and be internet proficient.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Three (3) - Five (5) years of relevant work experience in shipping/receiving/logistics/operations
  • Working knowledge of the principles of facility management, services, and equipment for a similar facility
  • Previous experience in a public assembly facility in a similar position
