Job Description
Fairborn Equipment is a Regional Corporation dedicated to the Service, Maintenance, and Repair of commercial and industrial doors and loading dock equipment. We are seeking a Full Time Dock amp; Door Service Technician to join our growing team! You will install, maintain, and repair loading dock equipment, overhead doors and related equipment. Service Technician will travel to the customer's location, locate the equipment requiring service, diagnose the problem, communicate with the customer both verbally and in writing to explain the needed repairs, get approval on repair work and finish work as needed.
Key Job Duties:
  • Use safe work practices during all job duties, including all appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
  • Troubleshoot general mechanical issues with dock levelers and overhead doors.
  • Read electrical voltages and diagnosing electrical issues.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic parts.
  • Perform routine maintenance including greasing, adjustments, and inspections.
  • Log work notes and parts used on iPad tablets.
  • Perform repairs in the field at customer locations.
  • Use extension ladders, scissor lifts, and power tools.
  • Work independently or in small teams as needed.
  • On-call (after hours) duties and local travel required.
  • Identify additional problems at service locations that need either repair or a quote for replacement, report back to Sales Staff.

Working Conditions:
  • Physical requirements necessary including standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, most of the time with infrequent opportunities to sit.

  • Ability to work in wet or humid conditions, as well as extreme cold or heat.
  • Occasionally may be required to perform work in the evenings or on weekends.
Experience/Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical, welding, electrical industries.
  • Clean driving record and valid Driver's License.
  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Drug screen and background check.
