Job description

Material Handler

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Starting Rate = $19.50

Primary Purpose

Addresses the needs of internal departments by ensuring each is properly stocked, enabling the company to maintain an efficient workflow.

Essential Functions

Material Handler I

  1. Ensures supplies are stocked in designated areas using Kanban system.
  2. Taking and fulfilling customer requests (in person or by two-way radio).
  3. Processes storeroom requisitions and material flow.
  4. Maintains strict FEFO/FIFO stock rotation.
  5. Posts inventory transactions within the ERP system.
  6. Maintains 5S standards (clean environment, ergonomics, proper labeling, and general warehouse upkeep)
  7. Ability and training to transport company resources between sites.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Material Handler II

  1. All the functions of a Material Handler I.
  2. 6 months of experience as Material Handler I.
  3. Receives products from vendors via FedEx, UPS, etc. Delivers products to end user on site within parameters of the ERP and department SOP's.
  4. Ability to accurately assist with counting of inventory within department regulations.

Material Handler III

  1. All the functions of a Material Handler II.
  2. Competency and proficiency in all work locations (Dayton, KRP East & West, as well as Forrer Warehouse).
  3. All training modules completed.
  4. Ability to cover previous MH positions at all sites.
  5. Assist team leads as needed with monthly expiration checks, FEFO/FIFO audits, as well as any material or logistic related projects.
Minimum Requirements

Material Handler I

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Material Handler II

  • 6 months of experience as Material Handler I.

Material Handler III

  • All training modules completed.
Work Environment and Physical Activities
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be considered insurable by Solvita Insurance Provider
  • Requires ability to lift and/or carry 60 pounds without assistance. Occasionally lift, up to 100 lbs. A team lift should be used for any weight exceeding 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to meet required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodations.
