Officer, Loading Dock (Open)

The Loading Dock Officer is responsible for vetting entry to the Loading Dock area, controlling traffic flow in the Loading Dock area, maintaining secure Heart of house entry protocols and providing a high level of support and service to all staff, visitors and customers.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Loading Dock Duties
  • General Security and Safety of the Loading Dock area; Pass Management for visitors using the Loading Dock area to access Back of House; management of vehicle access to the Loading Dock; Traffic Control in the Loading Dock; documentation of all access to the Loading Dock; relationship building with stakeholders such as Loading Dock Staff and regular Contractors.
  • Administration
  • Maintain concise and accurate reporting and data for all loading Dock Systems as directed by the Manager, Security Systems and Loading Dock Supervisors.
  • Work with Colleagues and Customers
  • Maintain an effective relationship with staff and customers within the work environment by presenting a professional image and dealing with incidents in a discreet and confidential manner appropriate to the situation.
  • Manage Own Performance
  • Effectively manage and maintain own quality of work performance conduct completing all tasks as directed. Contribute to the effective functioning of the Team and the Department.
  • Work in a Socially Diverse Environment
  • Use cultural awareness and understanding whilst maintaining effective standards of written and verbal communication with staff and customers in the workplace. Operate basic security equipment including radios to support and complete these functions.
  • Maintain the Security of Premises, Property and Personnel
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for staff and customers by actively vetting persons entering or leaving site via Staff entry. Take appropriate action to prevent loss or illegal access to property and respond to all emergencies and alarms as requested and directed.
  • Maintain Safety of Premises and Personnel
  • Effectively participate in the management of potential safety hazards including fire alarms, emergency situations, bomb threats and building evacuation.
  • Deal with Conflict Situations
  • Maintain and apply skills to deal with conflict situations that occur within the work environment in an appropriate manner and as per MCE policies.
  • Perform Other Duties as Directed
  • Perform all duties as directed by the Director, Security Operations or the delegated authority and in accordance with all Policies and Procedures, laws and regulations applicable to the Department and company.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to superiors and relevant departments
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by superiors from time to time

Qualifications

Experience

  • Experience in Customer Service and or Security Officer duties
  • Knowledge of Security systems an advantage
  • Demonstrated teamwork

Education

  • Knowledge of computer system applications such as Word, Excel essential
  • Verbal and written English and verbal Cantonese or Mandarin is desirable.
