About this Position

This is a Temporary role

Job Description:

  • Provides directions, and order to the loading dock activities at the OSU-CHS.
  • Plans, coordinates, and supervises shipping and receiving schedules.
  • Responsible for the accurate tracking of all materials received at the loading docks, ensuring they are properly delivered to appropriate parties when received.
  • Maintains relationships with all contractors/staff to ensure all personnel are aware of and adhering to facility policies and applicable laws.
  • Reviews and collaboration with the OSU Safety Department, ensuring all plans comply with OSU-CHS policies and appropriate personnel are scheduled.
  • Works in collaboration with the Event Managers and Safety Department to review all special requests relating to equipment storage or other adjustments as needed to dock area.
  • Responsible for the oversight and management of loading dock logistics, ensuring the efficient operation for all areas of responsibility, including product, people, and machinery(forklift) Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and safety regulations pertaining to loading docks, forklifts, and material handling safety, chemical handling, proper chemical storage and potential spill clean-up process and procedures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, and internet proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of shipping, receiving, logistics, and operations experience
  • Previous experience in a public assembly facility in a similar position

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of the principles of facility management, services, and equipment for a similar facility
