Description
Join a fast-growing third-party logistics company where you'll play a hands-on role in keeping our dock operations running smoothly. This position is based on the warehouse floor and requires someone comfortable in a physical, fast-paced environment who also has the organizational skills to manage shipping paperwork accurately.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate and oversee day-to-day dock activity, including receiving inbound freight, staging, and shipping outbound freight
• Direct and assist material handlers in the safe and efficient loading and unloading of trucks and trailers
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against Bills of Lading (BOL), shippers, and commercial invoices for accuracy and completeness
• Maintains accurate records in our WMS system and shared network folders
• Review and handle all paperwork, which includes BOL, Shipper, Commercial Invoice for outgoing orders, and scanning documents
• Print and apply inbound labels to incoming material.
• Communicate with carriers and drivers regarding dock scheduling, paperwork, and load requirements
• Support logistics analysts and the operations manager to ensure smooth inventory flow
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Prior warehouse or dock experience required - loading/unloading, receiving, or shipping preferred
• Familiarity with shipping documents, including BOL, packing lists, and commercial invoices
• Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work under tight timelines and adapt to changing priorities
• Basic computer skills sufficient for data entry and document scanning
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/move for extended periods on the warehouse floor
