Job description

Responsibilities:

· Manage daily live operations, including scheduling, catching, loading, and coordination with fleet, to ensure timely, efficient, and humane bird movement from farm to plant.

· Supervise catching crews and manage contracts, training, schedules, and performance against operational standards.

· Monitor and analyze key performance metrics such as DOA rates, catching, transit and holding times, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions.

· Ensure compliance with industry animal welfare policies and all applicable federal and state regulations, maintaining accurate documentation and records.

· Build and maintain strong working relationships with growers and producers, serving as a primary operational point of contact and supporting alliance and supplier coordination.

· Develop, document, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for live operations, and lead initiatives to enhance data collection, reporting, and scheduling systems.

· Manage budgets, invoicing, and extra-pay standards for catching and hauling contractors, and respond effectively to operational disruptions.

Requirements:

· Demonstrated experience in live haul, poultry, or agricultural operations management.

· Strong leadership and crew management skills, with the ability to direct field teams and contractors.

· Proven analytical ability, including experience working with operational data in Excel or similar tools.

· Excellent communication and relationship-management skills across growers, carriers, and leadership.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-driven environment and manage multiple priorities.

· Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to farms and field sites as needed.
