Job Description:

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Manager to lead logistics operations across the United States. In this role, you will own the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of all inbound and outbound shipping activities supporting our deliveries, while building and developing a high-performing team.

You will set the regional logistics strategy, serve as the subject-matter expert on operational best practices, and partner closely with teams across the business to deliver projects safely, on time, and on budget. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who is energized by both strategic problem-solving and day-to-day operational execution in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership
  • Manage end-to-end logistics operations for U.S. deliveries, including the design of logistics solutions, planning, scheduling, routing, and cost control across all relevant shipping activities.

  • Oversee carrier and freight-forwarder relationships, ensuring service levels, capacity, and rates are negotiated and maintained to meet business needs.

  • Ensure full compliance with U.S. and federal transportation regulations, including DOT, FMCSA, and applicable hazardous-materials (HazMat) and dangerous-goods requirements.

  • Monitor key performance indicators - on-time delivery, freight cost per unit, damage rates, and lead times - and take corrective action to keep operations on target.

Strategy & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop and implement the regional logistics strategy in support of business objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

  • Drive digitalization and automation initiatives for the regional function in alignment with the global team.

  • Lead projects focused on cost-out, process improvement, and other strategic business initiatives, applying structured project-management methods.

  • Facilitate the use of planning and forecasting tools to simplify logistics processes and improve communication with logistics service providers.

  • Serve as the regional subject-matter expert for operational logistics best practices.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team, setting clear goals, providing regular coaching and feedback, and supporting career growth.

  • Build the team's in-depth logistics knowledge and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Manage staffing, workload allocation, and performance to ensure the team consistently meets operational commitments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain Operations, Procurement, Project Management, Sales, Finance, and other teams to execute strategy in a way that maximizes customer outcomes.

  • Analyze situations holistically, clarify the positions of different stakeholders, and act as a facilitator who builds a constructive working atmosphere - particularly in conflict situations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in logistics, including managing teams and operations.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and a track record of coaching and developing teams.

  • Experience with project-management methods and practices, with the ability to apply them to logistics.

  • Hands-on experience with dangerous-goods handling and shipping, and familiarity with U.S. HazMat regulations.

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently to complete tasks and respond to requests, while also collaborating effectively to identify quality solutions.

  • Comfortable working on both tactical and strategic priorities with equal passion and drive.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to see the big picture across competing stakeholder interests.

Additional Skills
  • Experience working with large freight forwarders and project logistics.

  • Experience with project logistics, dangerous goods, and break-bulk shipments.

  • Familiarity with logistics management systems (TMS/WMS) and data-driven decision-making tools.

  • Experience operating in an international, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.

Additional Skills

  • A leadership role with ownership of a critical regional function and the autonomy to shape it.

  • The opportunity to drive meaningful digitalization and process-improvement initiatives.

  • A collaborative, cross-functional environment working alongside teams across the business.

  • Competitive compensation and benefits commensurate with experience.
