Your role as a Operations Manager
Key responsibilities:
Position Overview
NewCold is seeking a Operations Manager to support warehouse to effectively manage the warehouse
team on site and provide a level of service in line with customer requirements, at a level of cost agreed
in the budget. To create and develop a professional culture on site, in line with our values and ensure
that a positive attitude to Health & Safety is embedded within the team on site.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Ensure a NewCold culture is apparent on the site resulting in employee engagement.
• Implement a cost-conscious culture in line with budgeted expectations, focused on achieving
high levels of customer service.
• Manage the team in line with company policy and ensure agreed health and safety standards
are met.
• Work with customers on improvement initiatives to reduce costs and/or improve service.
• Monitor and react to KPI results and working with the Site Manager to identify and share
improvement ideas, ensuring contractual customer KPI's are met for service and quality.
• Creating a culture of a team focused on health, safety and quality in all aspects of warehouse
activity.
• Complete local KPI reports and share information internally, engaging the local team to search
for improvement opportunities.
• Closely monitor and control all expenditure, but with a real focus on payroll costs. React quickly
to adverse variances.
• Communicate structure on site to include daily team briefs and shift handover.
• Share regular meeting agendas with shifts and local management team.
• Conduct frequent checks on cleanliness and housekeeping to ensure compliance.
• Communicate with relevant parties any deviation from process, quality issues, and service
issues, or risk of failure in these areas.
• Complete agreed internal reporting and communication as required by Site Manager.
• Assist the operation as required by the site, including:
o Support Business Development initiatives as and when required.
o Share best practice and standards with colleagues in other NewCold sites and join
collaborative projects.
o Continually look to opportunities for improvement.
