Job Title:
Manager, Monetization
Role Overview:
We're looking for a strategic, data-driven Manager, Monetization to drive our free-to-paid upgrades program and associated landing page performance.
This employee will own the end-to-end strategy and execution of free-to-paid initiatives, unlocking incremental revenue through experimentation, pricing and promotion optimization, funnel improvements, and partner collaboration across Product, Data & Analytics, Engineering, Marketing, and Finance.
You'll partner with others on the Monetization team to build a roadmap that balances near-term growth with long-term sustainability. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, matrixed environments and has a deep understanding of subscription business models and conversion mechanics.
This is a Hybrid position located in our New York office. We value in-office collaboration and meaningful interactions, so expect that you will be able to be in the office on a regular basis according to team needs. When you are not working on-site, you will be working from your home office. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance to the New York office and are not offering relocation assistance at this time
About the role:
  • Develop and own the free-to-paid conversion strategies and tactics
  • Translate customer insights, competitive trends, and performance data into actionable strategies that increase conversion and reduce churn.
  • Lead ideation, validation, execution, and ongoing performance monitoring for all in-scope initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Product, Pricing & Promotion, Engineering, and Partnerships to deliver a prioritized, measurable roadmap with clear KPIs.
  • Optimize the purchase funnel, leveraging A/B tests, segmentation, UX refinements, and pricing/promotion strategies.
  • Collaborate with Data & Analytics to define success metrics, build dashboards, and diagnose performance drivers.
  • Work with Pricing & Promotions teams to operationalize global offers and ensure cohesive market strategy.
  • Work with Onboarding & Engagement to ensure customers understand the value of the product before introducing monetization opportunities
  • Build operational rigor in planning, reporting, process documentation, and project governance.

About You:
  • 6+ years in subscription monetization, growth, consumer revenue, or lifecycle conversion, ideally at a global consumer tech or digital subscription company.
  • Proven success optimizing free-to-paid conversion funnels
  • Deep analytical acumen: comfortable with data, experimentation, segmentation, and performance modeling.
  • Strong product instincts and experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Design.
  • Operationally minded with a track record of building scalable systems, processes, and workflows.
  • Outcome-oriented, strategic, and experiment-driven.
  • Comfortable balancing long-term vision with short-term impact.
  • Highly collaborative, influential, and adept at driving alignment across functions.
