Description
The J is hiring enthusiastic and knowledgeable Softball Coaches to being working in late August through October. Our coaches will provide instruction and impart their knowledge of the game to young players ages 8-14. The J's Softball instructional program emphasizes skill development, self-discipline and safety and teaches the value of good sportsmanship. Experience as a coach/player is required.
Schedule
  • We are hiring reliable part-time staff to assist with indoor training sessions on Sunday afternoons and/or weeknights.

Essential Functions
  • Lead/assist in softball drills relating to basic skills and in a separate clinic, teach basic softball pitching techniques
  • Help set up and tear down equipment
  • Supervise children ages 8 to 14 years old

Requirements
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Experience as a coach/player is required
  • Knowledge of softball and its rules
  • Able to work a flexible schedule
  • Must have reliable transportation

Physical Requirements
  • Constant talking and hearing to communicate with players and officials
  • Frequent standing, walking and eye/hand/foot coordination
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling of 25lbs, stooping/crouching, sitting, climbing stairs/ladders throughout the building and repetitive motions to demonstrate and execute skills
