Deckhand / Bartender High-Speed Ferry (Seasonal)

Rhode Island Fast Ferry operates high-speed ferry service between Rhode Island and Martha's Vineyard, along with scenic lighthouse cruises on Narragansett Bay.

The Role

Rhode Island Fast Ferry is seeking Deckhand / Bartenders for our summer season (May - October). This is a full-time seasonal position (3050 hours/week, typically 45 shifts) combining onboard bartending with deckhand responsibilities.

This is an ideal role for college students or anyone looking for a fast-paced, customer-facing job on the water with strong earning potential through tips.

What You'll Do
  • Prepare and serve beverages to passengers in a professional, friendly manner
  • Deliver a high-quality, customer-focused onboard experience
  • Assist with passenger boarding, loading, and safety
  • Handle lines during docking and departure
  • Help maintain vessel cleanliness and organization
  • Assist with luggage handling and passenger needs
  • Support emergency procedures and onboard safety protocols
  • Perform light maintenance and general vessel upkeep
What We're Looking For
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Bartending or hospitality experience (preferred)
  • Boating or maritime experience (a plus)
  • First Aid / CPR / AED certification (a plus)
