Job description

Oak View Group (OVG) is the global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, with a platform spanning venue development and end-to-end capabilities across venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. Founded in 2015, the company serves a collection of seven world-class owned venues and a client roster of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions, spanning four continents. 


The Event Intern provides assistance to the Event Managers for the day to day operations of the guest services department, specifically including all event planning and staffing needs. The intern position provides the opportunity to learn the event planning process, engage with a variety of clients, and learn how to address guest issues. The internship is focused around individual development, and will give them hands on experience in facilitating events.

This role pays an hourly rate of $20.00

This role is expected to last from May 4th, 2026 and will end on July 31st, 2026.

This position will remain open until June 10, 2026.


  • Work with Event Managers to correct department deficiencies
  • Learn to lead, manage, and supervise part time event staff
  • Learn to read and understand event diagrams and event instructions
  • Learn event configuration standards and setup requirements.
  • Learn the various departments in the building and their event day responsibilities
  • Gain hands on experience in the event planning process, having the opportunity to learn and impact a wide array of events

Key Learnings:

Event Planning Fundamentals
Develop a working understanding of the full event lifecycle, from initial planning through execution and post-event wrap-up.

Operational Execution & Logistics
Learn how to translate event resumes, diagrams, and instructions into real-time setup and execution on the floor.

Event Diagram & Floorplan Interpretation
Build the ability to read, understand, and apply event diagrams to ensure accurate room setups and client expectations are met.

Cross-Departmental Coordination
Learn how different departments (operations, security, catering, etc.) collaborate to successfully execute events.

Problem Solving in a Live Environment
Develop the ability to think quickly and adapt to last-minute changes, challenges, or guest needs during live events.

Exposure to a Variety of Event Types
Gain experience working across different event formats (corporate, entertainment, sports, etc.), understanding their unique needs.


  • Open to college juniors, seniors, and graduate students seeking an internship to fulfill class credits and/or paid internship
  • Housing/transportation are the responsibility of the student
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week
  • Must be available during normal business hours, nights, weekends, and holidays based on the Addition Financial Arena event calendar
  • Must have experience using Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Must be able to keep up in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be customer service oriented and professional
