This breadth of services gives litigation associates exposure to diverse industries and legal issues.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Litigation Associate role based in Baltimore, MD. The Litigation Associate will handle a range of civil litigation matters, including case assessment, legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery, and preparing deposition outlines and witness examinations. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing case files, communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and courts, and contributing to case strategy in collaboration with partners and senior attorneys. The role involves attending hearings, conferences, and trials as needed, coordinating with paralegals and staff on document management, and ensuring deadlines and procedural requirements are met. The associate will also support business development efforts through client service, participation in firm initiatives, and maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Law, including civil procedure, evidence, and commercial/business litigation.
Experience drafting and arguing Motions and other litigation-related pleadings.
Proficient in legal Research, including case law, statutes, regulations, and secondary sources.
Exposure to or experience with Depositions, including preparation and review of transcripts.
Familiarity with state and federal Courts, court rules, and filing procedures.
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission (or eligibility for admission) to the Maryland bar.
Excellent analytical, written, and oral advocacy skills, with attention to detail and organization.
Ability to manage multiple matters, work collaboratively within a team, and interact professionally with clients.
Prior law firm litigation experience and experience in complex or commercial litigation are highly beneficial.
