Job Description

  • Support attorneys with substantive and administrative litigation responsibilities from case intake through resolution
  • Participate in client and witness interviews, investigations, fact analysis, strategy discussions, and case-related conference calls
  • Coordinate background searches, public records research, arbitrator searches, and biographical summaries
  • Analyze documentary evidence and prepare chronologies, timelines, fact summaries, and case materials
  • Coordinate with outside vendors, court reporters, court personnel, eDiscovery vendors, and other litigation support resources
  • Assist with proofreading, cite checking, fact checking, case law retrieval, shepardizing, citation verification, local rules research, and procedural research
  • Manage and organize large volumes of documents, including client document collections and discovery productions
  • Perform complex searches, review, and manage discovery matters using Relativity and other web-accessible review platforms
  • Coordinate with eDiscovery staff to define legal team needs, organize workflows, and keep discovery projects moving efficiently
  • Compile data, support data analytics, and help case teams identify useful patterns and factual support
  • Prepare templates and initial drafts of pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents
  • Prepare deposition testimony categorizations using Opus2 Magnum or other deposition review tools
  • Support filing and e-filing procedures while coordinating with docketing teams on deadlines and submissions
  • Organize trial materials including pleadings, witness prep materials, trial notebooks, exhibits, deposition designations, and demonstratives
  • Attend and assist attorneys at hearings, trials, and arbitrations, including courtroom support and digital presentation assistance
  • Provide direction and guidance to project assistants assigned to case teams
  • Maintain a 1500 billable hour target while supporting high-quality litigation service

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm or specialized litigation practice required
  • ABA-approved paralegal certificate preferred
  • Strong litigation support, eDiscovery, discovery management, deposition, trial preparation, and case organization experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience with litigation support software such as Relativity, Everlaw, Opus2 Magnum, Adobe, deposition management tools, and document management software preferred
  • Strong research, writing, verbal communication, proofreading, and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, manage details, and work independently or collaboratively under deadline pressure
  • Must be available to work overtime and travel as needed
