We are seeking a committed and detail-oriented Case Manager. The core responsibilities of this position include coordinating medical treatment for clients involved in litigation, maintaining comprehensive and accurate medical record databases for each client, and collaborating with the litigation department to regularly update opposing counsel with new information. The role is essential in preparing case files for negotiation, mediation, or trial, ensuring the handling attorney has all necessary documentation.  
Responsibilities:

·         Work closely with attorneys and litigation staff to coordinate and schedule medical treatment for clients after case goes into litigation
·         Request, receive, process, and organize medical records, imaging, and billing information from hospitals and healthcare providers
·         Review/analyze medical records to confirm accuracy of documents received and proactively request missing files or dates of service 
·         Compare medical records and bills to confirm all related bills and liens.
·         Maintain and update client files by reviewing case notes and tracking treatment progress.
·         Communicate with clients and healthcare providers about medical treatment
·         Prepare medical summaries and chronologies to assist attorneys in case preparation.
·         Track, follow up on, and maintain detailed logs of all requests and correspondence with medical providers.
·         Compile and tabulate all associated client costs, medical bills, and fees
·         Report all statutory liens, including Medi-Cal, Medicare, VA, and private health insurance.
·         Conduct balance confirmations with medical providers for settlement negotiations, discovery, mediation or trial preparation 
·         Collaborate with attorneys, litigation staff, and lien negotiators to support case flow, litigation, and pre-trial preparation. 
·         Other relevant duties as assigned.  Management retains the right to add to or change the duties of this position at any time.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Case Management
  • Strong working knowledge of various governmental healthcare provider policies and procedures for lien negotiation and resolution
  • Experience reading and understanding medical bills and records.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other applications/systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and demonstrates a sense of urgency.
  • Punctual, excellent in time management, and interested in building a career.
  • Spanish-speaker required
  • Familiarity with FileVine is a plus
