Job description

Clyde & Co US LLP seeks associates and senior associates with 1 - 10 years of experience to join our growing litigation defense practice in Seattle. This practice covers a wide range of liability and insurance challenges in matters involving insurance coverage and bad faith, catastrophic injury and wrongful death, UIM defense, premises liability, trucking/transportation claims and employment and property disputes.
Responsibilities:
In this role you will:
  • Take depositions, attending hearings, and mediations as required.
  • Draft and submit pleadings, motions and briefs.
  • Prepare correspondence to colleagues and clients.
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis.
  • Draft discovery requests and discovery responses.
  • Review and analyze documents and materials for production.
  • Actively investigate claims and prepare case handling strategies.
  • Actively and effectively report to our insurance carrier clients and insureds.
  • Prepare cases for trial/mediation and participate in trial/mediation.

We're looking for someone who:
  • Is admitted to practice in Washington State.
  • Has civil litigation experience.
  • Has excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Has strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Has the ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters.
  • Has effective problem-solving skills.
  • Has the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $200,000. The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
