Job description

The purpose of this position is to supervise a team of General Liability Specialists (Specialist I & II), handling both customer and attorney-represented non-litigated claims. This position is responsible for monitoring liability claims (both customer and attorney-represented non-litigated), including investigation, analysis, negotiations, and settlements. 
The supervisor may be responsible for high touch involvement and oversight of claims which may include personally adjusting sensitive, complex or high exposure customer liability claims, including investigation, analysis, negotiations and settlement.
The Supervisor is involved in interviewing and making recommendations for hiring decisions, as well as managing performance of current associates.
The responsibilities listed on this position analysis are not intended to be all-inclusive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities include:
  • supervising the overall handling of customer and attorney represented non-litigated claims including "high touch" managing, involvement and oversight of complex or sensitive claims
  • supervising and leading a team of Specialists I & II, VRTs, VRT Team Leads on a daily basis
  • participating in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities through individual improvement activities, Quality Improvement Processes (QIPs) and Project Teams, and claims related meetings
  • overseeing, managing, monitoring, and in some instances acting as the primary adjuster, in specific types of general liability claims and claims handling activities such as complex or high exposure claims, security related claims, vendor involved claims, product related claims, food safety claims, pharmacy claims, claims involving fleet vehicles, etc
  • responding to telephone calls and written correspondence received by upper-level Publix management (CEO, President, Vice Presidents and Board of Directors) regarding liability claims
